7th Annual Mark Jardim Memorial Jog

by September 30, 2008. A $20 registration fee per participant ($50 maximum per family) is requested to help cover costs and raise money for the Mark S. Jardim Memorial Scholarship Fund. Make checks out to Friends of Mark, Inc.
*Pre-registration is greatly appreciated by the organizers to assist in planning this event. So appreciated, that THE FIRST 200 REGISTERED PARTICIPANTS ARE ASSURED TO RECEIVE A 100% COTTON T-SHIRT! On site registration will take place the day of the event, however, we cannot guarantee a T-Shirt.
FUN RUN:
A noncompetitive Fun Run for children and adults
will be held following the slightly competitive 5K. A registration fee of
$5 per participant is requested. All registered children 12 and under
will receive a 100% cotton t-shirt. Parents are required to sign a
registration form for entry.
RACE RESULTS & AWARDS:
The 5K run/jog/walk is intended to be slightly
competitive and timing will be by stopwatch. Prizes will be awarded for
various categories (e.g., by time, age, weight, hair style, lack of hair style,
etc.) at the discretion of the organizers.
BARBECUE:
A barbecue will follow the Fun Run at a Cheshire
Park Pavilion. Hot dogs, hamburgers, soft drinks, and other picnic foods
will be available. Participants are welcome to bring additional picnic
items to the event.
PURPOSE:
The purpose of the event is to gather together
and enjoy an afternoon with Mark’s family and the many friends he made
during his life. A portion of the proceeds from the event will go to the
Mark S. Jardim Memorial Scholarship Fund. Representatives for the fund
will be at the event and additional donations are welcome.
